Our Karlštejn Castle Bike Tour rolls you southwest of Prague along the Vltava and Berounka Rivers and through the Czech countryside to the gothic fortress built by King Charles IV to house the imperial jewels and his collection of holy relics. Karlštejn Castle, with its enchanting, monumental architecture, is one of the most-visited castles in the country.
We start the guided bike trip to Karlštejn from nám. Svatopluka Čecha in the center of Prague. Our cycling time to the castle takes about 3.5-4 hours and features flat terrain. During our trip, we will pass through several villages, making observation and refreshment stops. Upon our arrival at Karlštejn Village, we stop for lunch in a traditional Czech restaurant. Then, we leave our bikes behind to walk (15 minutes) up to the castle grounds. Your guide will introduce you to the history of the castle as well as the life of Charles IV and will show you the castle exteriors, courtyard, and viewpoints.
We return to Prague by train. Trains depart from Karlštejn to Prague approximately every 30 minutes, with the journey lasting 40 minutes. Our trip ends on bikes at nám. Svatopluka Čecha around 17:00. For the whole trip, you will be accompanied by our friendly and helpful tour guide.

- We do not take the castle interior guided tour. But if the time allows guests have the option of taking an interior guided tour (55 min, Adults-330 Kc, Children, Students & Seniors-180 Kc, more about admission). Please let us know in advance if you are interested.
- Use of regular & electric bikes are allowed for the same tour. The tour goes at an easy and not a fast pace and using an e-bike will not make you go faster but makes the trip easier.
- Not recommended for children aged 14 and under and for pregnant guests
- Participant weight limitation: over 45kg(100lbs) and under 110Kg (250lbs)
- We provide tours in English. Tours in other languages are offered upon request
- Lunch is not included in the tour cost. Average price for lunch is about 10-12 € (make sure you have some cash)
- No Hotel pickup and drop-off
- This activity operates rain or shine. You should bring sunscreen during summer months

- Castle has limited visiting hours and days from Nov 1 till March 1
- Castle is closed on Mondays, except 2 month in the summer July 1 - Aug 31
NOTE:
- This is a 35 km (20 miles) bike ride of 3,5 - 4 hours riding time with breaks and refreshment stops along the way.
- The tour, although being a very enjoyable bike ride, with almost no hills, does require a certain fitness level and bicycle riding skills (guests must be able to ride a bike and be fit to cycle 35km/22miles as alternative you can reserve an e-bike in order to keep the pace about 14km(9miles)/per hour).
- We recommend bringing comfortable/sports clothing & shoes, and anything you might need for a day out, based on your individual requirements (cereal snacks, sport drinks).
- If any of the above should appear to be a problem, we will happily help you find a more suitable tour or change your reservation.
